Antiquing in the Poconos
Long a popular destination for honeymooners,
outdoorsmen and other tourists, the Pocono Mountains in
northeastern Pennsylvania are quickly gaining favor as
one of the state’s prime antiquing spots. Visitors
can find reasonably priced antiques and collectibles in
dozens of shops throughout the region, including several
lining a corridor of Interstate 81 between exits 58 and
64.
Early-American pieces featuring the fine
craftsmanship of the Pennsylvania Dutch are but some of
the treasures displayed in an increasing number of antique
shops springing up in Carbon, Monroe, Pike, Wayne and
neighboring counties, all easily accessible from Interstates
81 and 84 as well as U.S. 6 and 11. Early American not
your style? How about art deco, art nouveau, Victorian,
European or Asian? Antique shops in the Poconos offer
something for every taste and budget.
